Ross Nasin

Angler

Ross Nasin’s connection to the water runs deep, rooted in a childhood where fishing and boating were woven into everyday life. Growing up on the shores of a lake, he caught his first fish at just three years old and was offshore chasing bluefin tuna by the age of five. Summers meant living on the family boat, exploring the water, and spending countless hours learning the rhythms of the sea — building a foundation that would shape his future both on and off the water.

Ross took that passion to the tournament stage as a teenager and never looked back. “Tournaments are definitely a progression,” he says. “You’re always learning and trying to get better.” Over the past 20 years, he has become a respected competitor in some of the sport’s most challenging events, embracing evolving technology and pushing his skills to the limit. When it comes to his role with Lights Out, Ross is known for his steady focus, adaptability, and the camaraderie he builds with his crew.

Ross’s partnership with longtime friend and teammate Rob began in an unexpected place: a ski shop in Vermont. Both passionate about fishing and boating, they struck up a conversation after noticing each other’s boat-branded shirts. “We went skiing the next day,” Ross recalls. That chance meeting turned into a fishing friendship spanning more than two decades and eventually evolved into Lights Out.

Representing New England on the national stage is a source of pride for Ross, who enjoys proving that fishermen from northern waters can stand toe-to-toe with the world’s best.

“It’s cool to take New England on the road and compete against some of the best fishermen in the world,” he shares. Whether chasing swordfish off the Northeast coast or traveling to iconic fishing destinations like Walker’s Cay, Costa Rica, or Panama, Ross thrives on the adventure, challenge, and teamwork that define the offshore lifestyle.

When he’s not pursuing billfish or studying the latest sonar innovations, you’ll probably find Ross with his trademark boat-day essential — a Monster Energy drink — ready to fuel another day of life at sea.
